The Accidental Fundraiser, Shepway
Tuesday 16th October 2018
Time: 10:00 – 13:00 BST
Who should attend this course?
This half-day course is designed for those working in the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Kent (excluding Medway).
This course is for those who are relatively new to fundraising and people who may have had fundraising 'added on' to their existing role. The course will examine what fundraising is really about (probably not what you think!) and how to apply the key principles of fundraising to maximise success. It will also look at the planning required to fundraise and help your organisation to assess whether it is ready to fundraise. The course will also provide an overview of all the main income streams available to charities: stautory, trusts, corporates, individuals and trading.
Kathy Roddy is a qualified and experienced fundraising trainer who has spent more than 20 years in the voluntary sector, first as Executive Director of a national animal welfare organisation, then, since 2000, as a fundraising trainer and consultant. She is a member of, and holds, the Institute of Fundraising’s Certificate in Fundraising Management and has recently co-authored an MA module with the University of Kent Centre for Philanthropy on the ‘Art and Science of Fundraising’. Through both training and consultancy, Kathy has helped charities and voluntary groups raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes.
